Crypto average cost and averaging down calculator

If you bought a coin several times at different prices, your real cost is the amount-weighted average, not the simple average of prices. Enter each buy's price and the amount you paid; the calculator shows your average cost, total quantity and P/L at the current price. Add a target average to see how much you'd need to buy at the current price to reach it.

Any currency works (TRY, USDT, $) as long as all amounts use the same one. Add fees to the amount if you like. Not investment advice.

How is average cost calculated?

Average cost = total amount spent ÷ total quantity bought. Each buy's quantity = amount paid ÷ price.

Example: $1,000 at $100 and $1,000 at $50 → 10 + 20 = 30 units for $2,000; average $66.67, not the $75 simple average.

Averaging down

Buying below your average lowers it. Quantity needed for a target average: (total cost − target × quantity held) ÷ (target − current price). The target must lie between the current price and your current average.

Averaging down grows a losing position: if price keeps falling, so does the loss. This is a calculation, not a recommendation.

What is DCA?

Dollar cost averaging means buying a fixed amount at regular intervals. A fixed amount buys more units when price is low, so the average cost ends up below the simple average of prices.
